About Me

Kate
I am a mother to four wonderful children. Three of my very own and one I have been blessed with the opportunity of raising. Over the years our children have seen many struggles due to the nature of several of them living with mitochondrial disease and the incredible difficulties that such a disease can cause. After years of fiercely caring for my babies, I began to fall ill myself. As it turned out I too was suffering the effects of our families little known genetic disease. Day by day we have learned to let go of the life we thought we would have and embrace the one we have. Our world has been tough at times, but it is a life filled with love, beauty, and most importantly hope.
